Welcome to the Worldbuilding Workshop! This is a worldbuilding project worked on by me and a few friends, based on discord. It is located in the real universe, but that shouldn't be a problem, because the universe is so big, and there are almost infinite possibilities. If you wish to join the project, hit THIS LINK. You will find a fantastic community of fellow worldbuilders who would be willing to help you learn, if you're new, or just to chat with while you're worldbuilding.
Also, we have 204 pages. We would love it if you would build more planets and add to this number!
The idea is simple: Make up a system any way you want, and flesh it out to the maximum extent possible. This includes planets, species, stars, asteroids, and so on. Also, those pages belong to you and you alone, so no one else should edit it, unless its grammar (looking at you, grammar nazi). If you wish to collaborate with a fellow user, go ahead! The more the merrier!
Oh, and some games are recommended to get really good graphics.
For really nice planet pics, and if your inspiration is running dry, some system ideas. This game generates trillions and trillions of star systems.
For blowing stuff up and creating nice pictures of things like supernovae that can't be simulated in SpaceEngine. This is also useful to check if your system is stable.
When you're done designing your system, please make some wikipages. We'd love to read them! I sometimes create wikipages for every large object in the system. You'll find articles on some minor moon of Violis, for example.
Also, here are some tools and pages which can seriously help you out:Rules • Lore • Getting Started • Kardashev Scale • Help Page • Criteria for Deletion • Stellar Classification System • Astronomical Object Classification System • Haven Group
